Hatha Yoga and Alignment (1-2)
Both Level 1 and Level 2 classes are practiced with principles of alignment, breathing, harmony, connectedness within the body, with the quality of a calm and still mind. This class will focus on both levels, addressing the individual needs of the participants.
Level 1- Suitable for beginners and more experienced practitioners alike. The class focuses on the principles of alignment, breathing, harmony, and connectedness within the body, practiced with the quality of a calm and still mind. Learn how to practice basic poses with awareness and intelligence. Instruction emphasizes correct anatomical alignment and movement and breathing exercises to enhance mental relaxation.
Level 2- Suitable for more experienced practitioners. The class focuses on the principles of alignment, breathing, harmony, and connectedness within the body, practiced with the quality of a calm and still mind. Practice basic and challenging poses with more physical precision, developing strength and sensitivity to the subtleties of mind/body connection. This class will also include more advanced Pranayama techniques and more detailed awareness of muscles, joints and skin. If you are looking for a more challenging class try the Thursday Level 2 class.
